James Harper

With over 20 years of experience in the construction industry, James Harper is deeply invested in diversifying the real estate development market. At an early age, Harper formed a deep appreciation for development when he was exposed to the construction site where his family’s home was being built; it was there that he realized the transformative power of construction and real estate development.

 

Harper co-established the Supplier Diversity Program at Hensel Phelps in 2014 and currently serves as the Regional Director of the program. He attended Tennessee State University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering. Some of his most notable achievements are helping to provide over $234 million in construction trade opportunities for small businesses through several Nashville Airport projects, working on the Pentagon Renovation Project and receiving the 2023 Nashville Business Journal Leaders in Diversity Award.
